Robert E. “Bob” Underwood, age 71, of Marion, passed away Wednesday night, May 18, 2016, at Heartland of Marysville.
He was born on February 10, 1945, in Boulder, CO, to the late Clarence and Helen (Chontos) Underwood. Bob was a 1963 graduate from Marion Catholic High School. Shortly after high school Bob enlisted in the United States Army National Guard of which he was honorably discharged from.
On October 12, 1976, Bob married Judith L. “Judy” Downing in Clifton Forge, VA.
Bob worked as an automotive salesman for local dealerships such as McDaniel’s Chevrolet and George Lupica’s Dealership. With Bob’s interest in cars, he also liked to do a bit of his own auto body work as well.
In his spare time, Bob liked being able to work with his hands outdoors. Whether it was tending to the garden or mowing the lawn, Bob was at peace. He also had a passion for dog shows. He and his wife owned show dogs and had their handler show them at Westminster. Bob could be found on the show ring as well, not showing, but judging. For 23 years Bob held his license to judge the sporting group and judged various shows throughout Ohio. Most of all, Bob loved the time he spent with his granddaughters and great granddaughter.
He will be missed by his wife, Judy; daughter, Traci (Randy Tracey) McKenzie of Delaware; granddaughters: Caitlynn (Cody) Evans of Morrow County, and Kyleah (Dakota Lessig) McKenzie of Delaware; and great granddaughter, Harlee McKenzie.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A private intimate family service will be held at a later date.
