Elmond G. Haney age 83 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born September 7, 1932 in Lowell, NC to the late John Curtis Haney and Ruth Nichols Haney.
Elmond served his country in the U.S. Army from April 1953 to April 1955. He was employed at Marion-Dresser for 30 plus years as a pipe fitter.
On July 27, 1957, Elmond married Gladys Kay Thomas, who preceded him in death in 1982. Their children include John Curtis Haney of Columbus, OH., Wilma Renee Haney of Marion, OH., Greg Thomas of Buckeye Lake, OH., Diana Atkinson of Ashville, NC.
In December 1984, Elmond married Billie Clark, who survives. They lived a very happy life, finding the Lord together. Elmond loved his step-children as his own, they are Marie (Rich) Cooper of South Lebanon, OH., Mitzi Clark of Marion, OH., Dan Clark of Detroit, MI., Mike (Debbie) Clark of Marion, OH., 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, two sisters, Bobbie Jean of Myrtle Beach, SC., Linda Faye of Lowell, NC.
He was very devoted to his church and his family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy and two sisters, Francis and Rachel.
Visitation for Elmond will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 from 1-2 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2PM with Rev. Floyd Radebaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
