Pat Malys, age 68, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 3, 2016 after a courageous and hard fought battle against cancer.
Pat was born on March 17, 1948 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the son of the Slim and Sue Malys. He graduated from Oil City Senior High School in 1966 and went on to attend Iowa State.
On May 9, 1970, Pat married his wife Nancy of 47 years and has resided in Marion for the last 36 years.
Pat finished his career as a supervisor at PPG Industries in Delaware which he worked for 23 years. Since retirement in 2010, Pat enjoyed his time by doing what he did best which was keeping himself busy with countless projects such as painting or fixing anything and everything. Pat never stayed still unless it was to watch The Ohio State Buckeyes, Xavier basketball, or any movie playing on the Hallmark channel. Pat loved the outdoors. He taught us his knowledge and love of camping, fishing, and bird watching.
Pat was a true family man and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
