William “Bill” Hardesty, 65, of Marion

William “Bill” HardestyWilliam “Bill” Hardesty age 65 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.

He was born April 13, 1951 in Marion to the late William and Catherine Hardesty.

On December 24, 1977 he married his wife Kathy and she survives him.

Bill was retired from Sims Brothers as a truck driver after twenty-four years of service. As a U.S. Veteran he spent five years in the Navy. Bill loved singing gospel music and playing his guitar and his harmonicas. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan enjoying baseball, football, and NASCAR. But, the biggest enjoyment Bill had, was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he leaves behind a daughter and a son; Kristy Foster of Marion, Ohio and Rob Fox of Richwood, Ohio. Also, grandchildren, Steven Foster, Jaycob Fox, Beth Estep, Heather Foster, Brittany Price, and great grandchildren, Jarryn, Cole, and Brian. Four sisters and three brothers survive as well. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral Services for Bill will be on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Herb Jordan. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery with Military Rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday June 13, 2016 from 6 to 8 P.M.
