David J. Rouse, 74, of North Bloomfield, OH, and formerly of Marion, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. He was born October 20, 1941, in Marion, OH, the son of the late Melvin and Faye (Oswald) Rouse.
He married the former Suzan Sandusky on December 13, 1962. They have shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
David was a 1959 graduate from Warren G. Harding High School in Marion, Ohio and studied education at the Ohio State University. He was employed as a manager at Kmart for 46 years, retiring in 2008. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Champion.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, Tai Chi and Zumba. David also loved gardening and yard work.
David’s memory will be carried on by his loving wife, Suzan K. Rouse of North Bloomfield, OH; three sons, David Lee (Belle) Rouse of WA, John Carey (Haekum) Rouse of Orwell, OH and Timothy (Teresa) Rouse of North Bloomfield, OH; two granddaughters, Laura and Heather Rouse both of Orwell, OH; and a great-grandson, Andrew Pokorny.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Friends may call from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, July 2, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home in Warren, OH, and also on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home, 347 W. Center Street, Marion, OH 43302, and again from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 6 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Marion County.
