Ellen Marie Flesher, age 76, of Marion, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at her home. Ellen was born June 29, 1940, one of four children, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Bernard and Genevieve (McKay) Wilhelms. On December 12, 1964, Ellen married Stuart Flesher together raising two sons. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1964. Ellen had a second chance at love being the 26-year companion to Robert “Bob” Lauter who survives.
During Ellen’s working years, she worked for Wyandot retiring from their packing department. Being a loving and caring woman, Ellen would spend countless hours volunteering at Marion General Hospital and St. Vincent de Paul Society. As a woman of great faith, Ellen was a lifelong devout Catholic. When Ellen was not reading or walking she could be found spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by sons, Erik (Melissa) Flesher of Avon, Oh and Scott Flesher of Caledonia, OH; grandchildren, Gage, Maddie, Mason, Lilly and Noah Flesher, Marrissa Thaw and Mia Lauter; brother, Rich (Eunice) Wilhelms of Chattahoochee, Fl, and sister, Gerry Syro of Parma, Oh.
In addition to her husband, Stuart and parents, Ellen was predeceased by brother, Ken Wilhelms and brother-in-law Joe Syro.
Calling hours will be held at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home Friday, July 8, 2016 from 4 until 7 pm with 6:45 pm Parish Prayers offered by Father Thomas Buffer. Burial will take place 10 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made in Ellen’s honor to St. Mary Catholic Church, Marion or St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marion.
