Patrick C. Sens, 56, of Marion

Patrick C. SensPatrick C. Sens, was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.  His health had declined in recent years due to his lifelong battle with juvenile diabetes, which started when he was three.  Much too young, he was 56 years old.

On October 14, 1959, Pat was born in Marion, Ohio, the fifth of six children of Charles and Jeannette (Schuler) Sens.  He graduated from Pleasant High School in the class of 1978.

Furthering his education, Pat earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Dayton University, and later took classes from the University of Notre Dame.

Upon graduation from Dayton, Pat returned home to Marion, where he joined his family’s business, Servex Electronics Distributing, Inc.

Of deep Catholic faith, Pat was a member of the St. Mary Church in Marion, and had attended Sacred Hearts Church in Cardington.  He also was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Gyro Club of Marion, and a past member of the Rotary Club of Marion.

With a love for animals, Pat shared a special bond with his two canine companions, his Doberman Pinscher’s: Killian and Murphy.  He also was an avid University of Dayton Flyer basketball fan and University of Notre Dame football fan.

A bit of a thrill seeker, Pat loved his many corvettes he’s had over the years.  He also loved scuba diving and snow skiing with the Marion Ski group.

Having an infectious smile and an ornery twinkle in his eye, Pat had a great sense of humor, loved to tell jokes, and was always laughing…often bringing everyone around him to tears!

Pat truly had a heart of gold, and would do anything for anyone.  He always had a kind word for everyone, and touched many lives.

Left to cherish Pat’s memory are his parents, Charles and Jeannette Sens of Marion; five siblings: Jean F. Sens of Florence, KY, Ruth Ann (Wayne) Perr of Fort Spanish, AL, Michael J. (Linda) Sens of Franklin, NC, Gregory J. (Ileana) Sens of Marion, and John F. (Denise) Sens of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A sacred Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at St. Mary Church, 251 N. Main St., Marion, with Father Thomas Buffer officiating and the Knights of Columbus standing guard.  His family will greet friends for an hour prior to his service at the church.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Following the services at the cemetery, family and friends are invited to a meal in Pat’s honor at the Knights of Columbus, 1232 E. Center St., Marion.  It was Pat’s wishes for this to be a fun and jovial time of remembrance, with a chance to share stories of Pat at 2 p.m. over a drink.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and they can be sent to the funeral home.

Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve Pat’s family.  Your favorite memories and condolences may be expressed to them by visiting www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
