Margaret “Peggy” J. Carp, 70, of Marion

Margaret “Peggy” J. CarpMargaret “Peggy” J. Carp, age 70 of Marion, passed away on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at Marion General Hospital.

Peggy was born on October 17, 1946 in Tiffin, OH, the daughter of Henry Edward and Helen Margaret (Ball) Bogner. She graduated from Calvert High School in the class of 1964.

On December 12, 1970, Peggy was united in marriage to Arthur Louis Carp at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin. They are just 5 days shy of celebrating 46 years of marriage.

Peggy has been a devoted homemaker her entire life. She adored her family and especially her grandchildren. Often times, Peggy’s home was filled with the smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls or homemade cookies. Generous and giving was just the beginning of who Peggy was. She would do for anyone, whatever their need might be.

In her free time she enjoyed playing cards, working the crossword puzzles, watching game shows or soap operas in the afternoons. She was a sports fanatic, keeping up with all of her teams, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Peggy was a long time member of St. Mary Catholic Church, both she and Arthur have been active members serving in various capacities.

She is survived by her husband Arthur Carp; children: Kimberly (Walt) Davis of Marion, Tammie (Dennis) Arnold of Tiffin, Brian (Leslie) Carp of Marion and Kelly Webster of Tiffin; grandchildren: Laura Bree Arnold, Baby Arnold is expected soon, Garrison Allen Carp, Cameron Nicholas Webster, Kristen Marie Webster, Gracie Kelly Webster and William Hunter Garvin; siblings: Betty (Newton) Swartzmiller, Carol Bogner, Linda (the late Gerald) Hahler, and Ronald (Edith) Bogner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren: Chris, Keri and Maureen Arnold; brothers: Marian, Melvin, Donald, James, Paul and Joseph Bogner; sisters: Shirley Slosser, Mary Halcomb and June Bogner.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 10, 2016 at Snyder Funeral Homes, GUNDER/HALL CHAPEL, 347 West Center St., Marion from 4PM to 7PM with a Rosary Service at 6:45PM; Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 251 North Main St., Marion at 10AM with Fr. Thomas Buffer officiating; Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery; Lunch will be held at Knights of Columbus following the burial at 1232 E Center St, Marion.

If so desired, donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, American Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Mary Catholic Church.
