Donald H. Shepler, 88, of Marion

Donald H Shepler, 88, of Marion died late Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in Marion General Hospital.

He was born on September 15, 1929 in Coshocton County, Ohio to Earl H. and Sylvia F. (Preston) Shepler who are both deceased.

Donald was an accountant for most of his life but also owned a construction business building several new homes in the Marion area. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Don was also a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and their bowling team in Marion. He also was a past member of the Ridgedale Lions Club and the Elks Lodge.

Donald was proceeded in death by his wife, Ruth Joan (Engle) Shepler. They were married on September 5, 1953. Surviving are 2 sons; Donald P. (Connie) and Philip (Kimberly) Shepler, both of Marion. Also, he was surrounded by grandchildren, Joseph, James (Amber), Joshua Shepler, and Katie Jividen, all from Marion. Great Grandchildren, Gavin, Luke and Tristan Jividen and Kylie Shepler, all from Marion. Sisters Jo Myers from Dover Ohio, Dorothy Moyer from Monroe, NC, and sister in law Dorothy Shepler from Coshocton. He was also preceded in death by his brother Harvey Shepler, brother in laws, Tom Moyer, and James Myers.

Funeral services will be held at Boyd-Born Funeral Home, Marion Ohio on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 10:30 am with Kevin Kehn AIM presiding. Burial will be at the Grand Prairie cemetery. Graveside military services will be conducted by Marion County Veterans Council

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Boyd-Born

Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday.

Memorial contributions can be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
