Fred L. Buckner, Jr., age 54 of Marion, passed into Heavenly Glory on Monday February 5, 2018 at the Marion General Hospital.
Fred entered into this world on March 3, 1963 to Rev. Fred L. and Beluah (Hall) Buckner, Sr. in Marion, OH. On October 10, 1992, he married Ronda Litz in Marion, Ohio.
Fred worked for the Marion City Schools from 1999 to 2013 starting out as a substitute bus drive then promoted to transportation supervisor in 2006. Then he transferred to the Olentangy Schools for the last three years. He was a member of the Marion Board of Realtors and a lifetime member of the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle, and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Ronda (Litz) Buckner of Marion; his mother Beulah Buckner of Marion; his brother Tim (Merriam) Buckner of Marion; his sisters Dianna (John) Buckner-Little of Fort Myers, Florida, Rhonda (Rob) Higley of Cardington, Ohio, Debbie Buckner-Moorman of Marion, and Susan (Brad) Bell of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Rev. Fred L. Buckner, Sr., his sister Theresa Johnson, and two nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 1 PM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton St., Marion, Ohio. Services will take place on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 1:30 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
