They stumbled in their first offensive series, but after breaking free to score a long touchdown run, River Valley never looked back as they blanked the visiting Cardington Pirates 49-0 Friday night.
The Vikings received the opening kickoff and the Pirate defense had their number during the first few plays as they pushed River Valley backwards. That was until the Vikings broke a long run for the first touchdown of the evening.
River Valley put 21 on the board before the end of the first quarter and 35 points by half time. Two of the early scores came on kick runbacks.
