Fahey Bank has announced the October Athletes of the Month for 2012 are Hunter Atherton (volleyball at Pleasant) and Colin Wood (football at Pleasant).
Hunter Atherton, the Female Athlete of the Month, is only a freshman, but she has already set four school records at River Valley. Hunter is now the school record holder of the following records:
- Attacks per season – 262
- Kills per season – 140
- Points per match – 20.25
- Points per season – 162
Hunter was named to 1st team All MOAC, 1st team Central District, and 3rd team All Ohio.
The Male Athlete of the Month went to Colin Wood. Colin was the Spartans’ quarterback this season and helped lead the team to the MOAC Blue Division Championship. Colin ran for 9.3 yards per carry in the month of October, 14 rushing touchdowns, threw for 651 passing yards, and 5 passing touchdowns.
