Clippers Beat Bats 6-1 to Complete Sweep

The Clippers finished a four game sweep of Louisville by routing the Bats 6-1 at Louisville Slugger Field.

The big frame for Columbus was the fourth inning. Matt LaPorta started the scoring with an RBI sacrifice fly. Chun Chen then contributed offensively with a two run triple. Juan Diaz capped the four run inning with an RBI single.

Roberto Perez later added an RBI single in the seventh. On the mound, Trevor Bauer was effective and efficient on the mound. He went six innings, holding the Bats to one run on five hits. Bauer struck out four and walked one batter.

Louisville got a run in the seventh when Mike Hessman scored on a Bryan Price wild pitch. That would be all for the Bats in the run column as Columbus completed the four game sweep over Louisville. Bauer (W, 6-5) got the win for the Clippers. Yohan Pino (L, 4-6) was hit with loss for the Bats.

Following an off-day on Monday, the Clippers will travel to Indianapolis to start a four game series with the Indians. The pitchers for both teams have yet to be determined. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
