Behind three touchdown passes from quarterback Jason Campbell, the Cleveland Browns snapped a three-game losing streak with a 24-18 victory over the Baltimore Ravens Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The win also ended an 11-game losing streak to the reigning Super Bowl champion Ravens, a team the Browns had not beaten since former kicker Phil Dawson kicked a field goal at the end of regulation and one more in overtime at Baltimore during the 2007 season.
Kicker Billy Cundiff gave the Browns their final score of the game with a 22-yard field goal with 17 seconds left.
Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Marlon Brown, and the two connected again on the ensuing two-point conversion, which drew the Ravens to within three points of the Cleveland Browns, 21-18, with 12:09 to play in the fourth quarter.
Flacco engineered the five-play 32-yard drive in 2:38 after returner Tandon Doss ran back Spencer Lanning’s 53-yard punt 36 yards to the Browns’ 32.
With Campbell matching a career high with three touchdown passes, the Browns held a 21-10 lead over the Ravens after three quarters of play.
Campbell tied his career high for touchdowns in a game when he tossed his third of the day, a four-yarder to tight end Gary Barnidge, which built the Browns’ lead over the Ravens to 21-10 with 5:11 left to play in the third quarter.
On second-and-three from the Baltimore four-yard line, Campbell took the Shotgun snap from center Alex Mack and lofted the pass out to the right side of the formation to Barnidge, who caught the ball, turned up-field and scored his second career touchdown, and first for the Browns.
