The January 2014 Fahey Bank Athletes of the Month are Natalie Dunham of Pleasant and Aaron Malley of River Valley.
Natalie Dunham is a junior swimmer for the Spartans. Natalie was part of 11 first place finishes during the month of January. This included setting 3 new Pleasant school records. New records were set on the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:04.04, the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:05.2, and in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:58.8. Wins were also recorded for Natalie in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and the 100 backstroke.
Honorable Mentions were Kendall Stuckman of River Valley, Taylor Close of Elgin, Brooke Mattix of Ridgedale, and Fallyn Stephens of Marion Harding.
The Male Athlete of the Month went to Aaron Malley a senior post player on the River Valley basketball team. During January Aaron averaged 20 points per game, 12 rebounds per game, and 2.8 blocks per game. Aaron is the anchor of the Viking defense who challenges opponents in the paint. Aaron is also a captain on the team and a role model to the younger players.
Honorable Mentions were Cantyn Belmer of Elgin, Ty Endsley of Marion Harding, Ryan Maniaci of Pleasant, and Jason Ellis of Ridgedale.
