Local Salvation Army Leaders to Retire

After forty-three years of faithful service to The Salvation Army as Corps Officers, Majors James and Joan Sayer will be retiring. They have served the Marion Corps for the last three years. During this time they have had contact with many individuals in the Marion Community through various social services and serving on community committees.

In honor of their retirement, an open house will be held on Sunday August 15, 2010 between 2 and 4 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

Organizers ask everyone to come and wish them well as they move to Findlay, Ohio to pursue time with their six, and soon to be seven grandchildren. A word of encouragement in regards to how they have affected your life or impacted the community would be appreciated rather than a gift.

Majors Paul and Kathleen Knickerbocker, from Lewistown, PA will be replacing the Sayers’. They will begin serving on August 25, 2010.
