Monarch Tagging at Lowe-Volk Park

The Crawford Park District will have an impromptu Monarch Tagging Program, Friday, Sept 10 at 9:00 am. The event will take place at the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center.

Organizers ask you to stop out to learn about these fascinating insects and see how they are reared from eggs to adult. Monarch Butterflies are beginning their incredible migration to central Mexico. Before they leave, Monarch Watch encourages tagging of the butterflies. This helps in conservation, not just for the Monarchs, but all the ecological aspects associated with them.

Lowe-Volk Park is located 3 miles north of US Route 30.
