The Smithsonian Museum launched Jazz Appreciation Month in 2001 as an annual event that pays tribute to jazz both as a historic and living American art form. It has since grown to include celebrations in all 50 states and 40 countries.
The Marion Palace Theatre has plans to join the celebration with “And All That Jazz,” a concert featuring performances from several area high school jazz/swing bands including Pleasant, Mt. Gilead, Colonel Crawford, River Valley, and Harding’s Stardusters.
