Photography Contest Seeks “Life of a Farmer”

The Ohio Department of Agriculture today announced its third annual photo contest. Participants will have until Dec. 31, 2010, to capture their personal interpretation of this year’s theme “Life of a Farmer.”

Golf Outing to Benefit Safety City

The Marion Area Browns Backers are holding a golf outing on Saturday, June 26. Proceeds from the event benefit the organization and Safety City in Marion.

The day begins with registration at 9:30 am and a 10:15 am tee-off.

The Marion County Commissioners Thursday approved a contract between the Marion County Engineer’s Office and Kohli & Kaliher Associates of Lima to provide load testing of several local bridges.

Area Teachers Studying Math and Science at Tri-Rivers

Several area math, science and technology teachers are attending a Math Machines Workshop at Tri-Rivers this week called Connecting Math, Science and Technology. They are using algebra and geometric formulas to build a calculator-controlled Science And Math (SAM) vehicle and two other math machines for use in their classrooms.
