Tips Offered For Avoiding Water Illness

The week before Memorial Day, May 24–30, 2010, is National Recreational Water Illness (RWI) Prevention Week. Marion Public Health says the goal of this observance is to raise awareness about healthy swimming behaviors, including ways to prevent recreational water illnesses (RWIs).

State Patrol Investigating Injury Crash In Marion

Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Thursday, May 14, at 8:23am. The crash occurred on Fairground Road between Madison Avenue and Pole Lane Road, in Marion County.

New Marion County Dog Warden Appointed

The Marion County Commissioners on Thursday appointed Amie Adams as the new Marion County Dog Warden.

Adams has been with the Dog Warden’s office for several years and has been acting as the interim warden since the retirement of Jane Watts. Watts retired effective April 7.

Credit Union Raises Funds For Miracle Network

Marion Community Credit Union raised $1,985 toward the Ohio credit union statewide fundraiser, Marching Miles for Miracle Kids, to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network and the eight children’s hospitals serving Ohio. The event as a whole raised $110,000 this year, bringing the four-year total to $370,000.

Marion Postal Workers Collect 30,000 Pounds of Food

Marion residents again stepped up to the plate and donated 30,000 pounds of non-perishable food in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive to help stock community food pantries n the nation’s largest one-day effort to combat hunger.
