After an extensive investigation, the Marion Police Department says the fourth and final suspect involved with the home invasion and stabbing at a Monroe Street residence, which occurred on April 30, is now in custody. Those arrested are also suspects in other armed crimes in Marion.
On May 9, 2012, investigators received anonymous information about possible locations of evidence related to this crime. The investigation led to the arrest of Joseph Stacy, a 20-year-old Marion resident.
Today, May 10, at approximately 9:30am, investigators say they located the fourth and final suspect at a residence on North Main Street in Marion. This suspect is a 17-year-old Marion resident. Formal charges are now pending with the Marion County Prosecutor Brent Yager.
“All 4 suspects in the Monroe Street Home Invasion are now in custody,” stated Major Bill Collins. “Additionally, two of the suspects are suspected in the Richmond Avenue home invasion, which occurred May 1, 2012.”
One of the apprehended suspects is also a suspect in the armed robbery of the General Sales Drive-Thru, which occurred on April 23, 2012.
Major Collins said Lieutenant’s Bayles and Shaffer spearheaded the investigation and they spent many hours following up leads and conducting interviews in this case.
