Commissioners Report for June 21

At their regular meeting on Thursday, June 21, the Marion County Commissioners approved the employment of Shirley Harper as a full-time case manager at Marion County Job and Family Services. She will fill a vacancy in the Income Maintenance Unit.

The Commissioners also approved the renewal of an agreement between Job and Family Services and Marion CANDO for business services. The services to be provided include advocating and assisting in the delivery of services provided by Marion Connections. CANDO will also continue to collect, maintain, and analyze information relating to the workforce needs of local employers.

At their meeting on Tuesday, June 19, the Commissioners announced they will be holding a public hearing to consider the 2013 Tax Budget on Tuesday, July 3, at 9:00am. The budget at that point will be very preliminary, but the hearing is required by law.

The Commissioners also approved the design plans for the construction of a wastewater lift station and force main which will serve the new Elgin school building. Roger Dietrich, Marion County Sanitary Engineer said he will present the final plans to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for final approval. He said he expects the construction project to go out for bids in early July with work starting in early August and completion in November.

The Commissioners also approved various fund transfers and now and then certificates.
