Red Cross Blood Drive Cancelled

The blood drive originally scheduled to be held at The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College on Friday, August 31st, has been cancelled.  Another drive is scheduled at this location on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Red Cross Readies for Possible Severe Weather

The American Red Cross is preparing to respond today if severe weather forecast for the afternoon creates a need, said Marion/Morrow Red Cross Chapters director, Michael Vance.

Red Cross Issues Emergency Call for Blood Donors

The American Red Cross says national blood supplies have reached emergency levels with 50,000 fewer donations than expected over the last month across the country. This shortfall leaves the Red Cross with half the readily available blood products on hand now than this time last year.

Red Cross Disaster Response Winds Down – Urges Planning for Future

As power has been restored across the state and residents have returned home, American Red Cross disaster response activities are winding down. All Red Cross emergency shelters and cooling centers have been closed and feeding routes have been suspended. At the same time the current effort wraps up, the Red Cross is urging residents to plan for future natural disasters.

Marion Red Cross Opens Cooling Station for Thursday

In response to the remaining power outages in Marion County, the Marion County Chapter of the American Red Cross has a cooling station open at the Chapter House located at 1849 Summerset Dr. in Marion.  The cooling station will be open until 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Red Cross Offers Local AmeriCorps Positions

The American Red Cross has renewed its grant from AmeriCorps, a national service program, to take our life-saving information and training directly to the citizens of Ohio and invites interested applicants to apply.

The grant will allow the Red Cross to place 20 team members in Red Cross offices throughout Ohio, including placements in Marion and Morrow Counties.
