Last Minute Change For Marion Blood Drive

A Red Cross blood drive originally scheduled as an in-house collection at a local manufacturing plant has been moved to the First Church of The Nazarene at 233 W. Church St. in Marion. The drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 28th, and has been opened to members of the general public.

Annual Radiothon To Raise Funds For Red Cross

The WMRN/WYNT American Red Cross Radiothon, a live, 12-hour, on-air fundraiser, will be held on Thursday, May 13th. The 10th annual event, a major source of funding for the local Red Cross chapter, will be held from 7:00am to 7:00pm and will be broadcast live on WMRN AM 1490 and WYNT Majic 95.9 FM.

Red Cross Holding CPR, AED, First Aid Training

The Marion County Chapter of American Red Cross has announced two upcoming training classes.

The first — Community CPR and AED (automated external defibrillator) – will take place Saturday, April 17th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Training will cover procedures almost anyone can use to assist persons experiencing heart-related and breathing emergencies. Participants will learn how to administer CPR to adults, children and infants. Students also will be trained to use an AED to help victims over 12 months of age. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch.
