Richard L. “Dick” Loyer, age 83, of Marion and formerly of Waldo, died Monday morning, January 31, 2011, at Grant Medical Center following complications from a fall he experienced last Thursday.
On July 20, 1927, Dick was born in Marion County, one of five children of the late Norris and Florence (Fairchild) Loyer. When he was only ten years old, he lost his mother to tuberculosis, and was placed in the Morrow County Children’s Home. He was then taken in and raised by Wallace and Mabel Rengert in Waldo.
