History of Marion Business at Heritage Hall

Much of Marion’s rich business and economic history has been captured in the new Inventors, Entrepreneurs and Merchants exhibit opening May 6 at the Marion County Historical Society Museum, Heritage Hall.

The event runs from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a special dedication of new displays in the lower level commemorating longtime MCHS volunteer Gary Barnhart and his contributions to the Marion County Historical Society.

Marion Hospice Offers Children’s Grief Workshop

“Healing Hearts” is a 10-week grief workshop dealing with children’s grief issues and is open to any child who has suffered a significant loss. Recommended age range for children is from 6 to 12 years of age.

This series is offered at no cost through Marion General Hospital Hospice.

The group meets from 5:30-7:00 p.m., Wednesdays, beginning May 5. The sessions take place at the Marion General Office & Conference Center, 278 Barks Road W. in Marion.

Street Closing In Order To Fill Lincoln Park Pool

North Prospect Street, just north of Council Street, will be closed beginning Friday evening, April 30, until Monday morning, May 3. The City will be filling the pool with water for the 2010 pool season.

Senate Candidate Making Second Marion Stop

Ohio Secretary of State and U.S. Senate candidate Jennifer Brunner will make a second stop in Marion today (Thursday). After visiting supporters at a Marion union hall, Brunner will tour Turning Point, during which she will meet with the public.

Group Discussing In-Home Care, Support Services

The Marion County Council on Aging will host the spring meeting of Caregiver Connections on Thursday, May 6th, beginning at 11:30 am with a luncheon.

The topic for discussion will be In-Home Care and Support Services, as presented by a panel of local service providers. The panelists will be representing Visiting Nurses Association of Ohio, Heartland Hospice, and Visiting Physicians. All three will present information in a lively discussion on a variety of services that are available for in-home care for your loved ones.
