ODOT Begins Tweeting Traffic Issues

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is expanding its use of Twitter to help Ohio drivers have a "Worry Free Rush Hour" — by providing information about major traffic delays before motorists hit the road each weekday morning and afternoon.

Free Caregiver 201 Series Offered

The free workshop series, Caregiver 201, will be presented by Anne Bare, RN, BS, on Friday, July 9, 16, and 23, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm each day.

This series is designed to assist families and caregivers coping with the middle to later stages of dementia.

Murder Mystery Dinner At Marion Senior Center

The Marion Senior Center's Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre will present "Hulas and Homicide" on Thursday, July 8 at 11:00 am.

The show revolves around the mysterious death of “Winnie Waheli” a Championship Hula dancer and founder of the annual hula Contest who has swirled her hips for the last time.

Marion Church Holding Fish Fry and Parking Lot Sale

Court – Radar Not Needed For Speeding Convictions

The Supreme Court of Ohio Wednesday ruled 5-1 that a police officer’s unaided visual estimation of a vehicle’s speed is sufficient to support a speeding conviction without independent verification of the vehicle’s speed if the officer is trained, certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy or a similar organization, and experienced in visually estimating vehicle speed.

Sheriff’s Office Explorers Holding Rummage Sale

The Marion County Sheriff's Office Explorers will be having a fund raising rummage sale on June 5th from 7am to last item sold at Mallard Square. Items can be donated by the public on June 3rd and 4th from 5pm to 7pm by bringing them to Mallard Square. Items can also be donated for pick up by calling Deputy Amy McDonald at (740)223-4180.

Marion Church Holding Day Camp For Kids

The Richland Road Church of Christ will be having a Day Camp for children in Kindergarten – 5th grades on June 7-10 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The cost for four days is $20 or $50 for a family with 3 or more students registering. There will be bible lessons, singing, skits & puppets, games, and more.
