Hot Wing Eating Contest
Oct 24 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

The 14th annual United Way Wing Eating Contest sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings and hosted at Grant Middle School will take place on Friday, October 24th, 2014 at 1:30pm.

Each team entering the contest must consist of five contestants. At least one of the contestants per team must be a female. Each team entering must raise a minimum of seventy-five dollars in sponsorship.  There is only enough room for thirty five teams, so teams should be sure to sign-up as soon as possible.

Again this year, Buffalo Wild Wings is offering 100 free hot-wings for a practice round to teams once they sign-up and pay for their entry.

The winner of the contest is the team that consumes the most HOT wings in five minutes without consuming any water or beverages. The winning team will receive a championship trophy and the claim to fame for the next year.

If your company/organization is interested in participating in this year’s contest, contact: Kelly Garrett at the United Way office – 740-383-3108 or by e-mail: Kelly@unitedwaymarion.org

Poltergeist, produced in 1982 by Steven Spielberg, was tagged as the ‘First Real Ghost Story.’  The film is devoid of blood and graphic violence but the special effects and plot line makes the movie truly frightening. The 1960 Academy Award nominated film is rated TV-14 and runs 1 hour, 49 minutes.

The Monster Movie Marathon will conclude with the 1984 sci-fi comedy, Ghostbusters.  Show times are Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  Ghostbusters is rated PG and runs 1 hour, 45 minutes.
