Lloyd LucasLloyd Lucas, age 58, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Lloyd was born on November 30, 1953, the son of Earl R. and Clerinda (Hall) Lucas in Knox County, Kentucky.

He was educated in the Floyd County Kentucky School District. Lloyd worked many different places including the Henry Lumber Company and the W.S. Machine Shop as a machinist.

On December 28, 1974, Lloyd was united in marriage to Carla F. Shepherd in Marion County. Together they have shared 37 wonderful years of marriage.

Lloyd loved to fish and took great enjoyment doing so. He also will be remembered for his great passion for Arrowhead Hunting. He could be found searching the farm fields throughout Marion County finding all sorts of relics. He loved that hobby and would start at sun-up and go until the sun went down. But his greatest passion was the love that he had for his grandson as a proud “Poo Paw”.  It was his grandson Jayden that made everyday worth living for.

Lloyd will lovingly be remembered by his devoted wife Carla Lucas; his daughter Michele (Michael) Sprague; his siblings: Dusty Borders, Janice (Duke) Moore, Mike (Julie) Lucas, Kenis Lucas, Peggy (Tim) Williams, Carolyn Prater and Betty (Bill) Riley; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton Street, Marion, from 12PM to 2PM, Funeral services will immediately follow at 2PM with Rev. Jim McIntire and Rev. Fred Buckner officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
