Willis “Bid” Bowen, 92, of Marion

Willis “Bid” Bowen, 92, of Marion passed away in his home on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 1:01 a.m.

He was born in Inez, Kentucky on January 28, 1922 to Charlie and Viola (Bowen) Bowen.

Bid is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann (James) Bowen, whom he married on November 27, 1947 in Paintsville, Ky.

Also surviving are a son; Rick Bowen of Marion, Oh., 2 daughters; Betty Woodyard of Marion, Oh. & Barb Pinnick of Satellite Beach, Fl., Grandchildren; Andrew & Autumn Woodyard of Marion, Oh., Joshua (Amanda) Pinnick of Boynton Beach, Fl., Chad (Taylor) Pinnick of Satellite Beach, Fl., Kristen (Chris) Pinnick of Winter Park, Co., 2 great grandchildren; Beckett & Holden Pinnick of Satellite Beach, Fl., and extended family; Sue Schwamberger of Marion, Oh., Rocky Ratliff (Summer Schnabel) of Marion, Oh., Kimberly (Jim) Weatherhead of Marion, Oh., Jeffrey (Kelly McCoy) Ratliff of Marion, Oh., Amber (Mike) Kile of Marion, Oh., and A.J. (Mindy) Sentieri of Marion, Oh., along with several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Marvin, Hobart, & Everette Bowen and sisters; Neva & Opal Bowen and Verna Muncy.

Bid was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and worked for the Marion Division of the C&O Railroad for 39 years before retiring. Bid attended the First Freewill Baptist Church on Crissinger Road.

Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the Inez Freewill Baptist Church, Inez, Ky. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Inez Freewill Baptist Church on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery. Pastor Richard Davis will be officiating.
