Marion City Council Meeting Monday

Marion City Council will start early on Monday, June 14, with a meeting of the Streets and Sewers Committee at 7:00 pm. The full Council will then meet at 7:30 pm.

State Route 98 Closing For Railroad Repair

State Route 98 will close on Monday, June 14, between State Route 309 and Ulsh Road starting at 7:00 am for railroad repair. The posted detour is State Route 98 to State Route 309 to US 23 to State Route 4 to State Route 98 or reverse.

Bethlehem Dance Holding Annual Program

You can rid your home of toxic waste at Marion's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, June 12th from 9:00am to 1:00pm at Whirlpool Corporation on Marion-Agosta Road/Route 95 West.

Swim Lessons at Marion Pool

Swim lessons are being offered at Lincoln Pool the week of June 14 through June 18, 2010. Lessons will be each evening beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Children 3 to 5 years old will be from 5:30 – 6:00
Children 6 to 12 years old will be from 5:30 – 6:15

Father’s Day Lunch at Marion Senior Center

On Thursday, June 24th at 11:30 am, the Marion Senior Center will be serving lunch to all the Dads, Grandpas and Great Grandpas for free, but you need to pick up your ticket by Monday, June 14. For the ladies, tickets are $3 each.

The menu includes grilled hot dogs or brats with all the trimmings, potato chips, dessert and a drink.

Marion Man Wanted for Probation Violation

The Marion County Adult Probation Department is seeking 44-year-old Bryan Banks of Marion. Banks is 5'10" and 160 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair.

He regularly wears black rimmed glasses and was last seen riding a bike in the vicinity of Bellefontaine Ave. His last known address is 846 Underwood Ave.

City Departments Staying Within Budget, Look Toward 2011

The City of Marion is staying within their budget within nearly every department even as tax revenues are down slightly. With 2010 half over, the City Council and Administration look to hammer out the budget for 2011.
