J. Mitchell Tyler Jr. age 60 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born February 25, 1954 in Marion, Ohio to the late J. Mitchell and Delia Tyler Sr.
J. Mitchell graduated from Harding High School in 1973 them went on to graduate from OSU with a Physics Major. He was co-founder of The Martin Luther King Park, current member of Regional Planning Commission of Marion and former member of Black Heritage Council. He was employed at Floyd Brown and Macola for many years as a computer programmer system analyst and retired from Odd Sam Printing in 2006.
He is survived by son, Antonio (Alicia) Tyler of Marion, Oh., his daughter, Monique (Bryan) Winbush of Columbus, Oh., five grandchildren, Lashe’ (Mike) Tatum, Lakia Baldwin, Troy Garner II, Antonio Tyler II, Bryson Winbush, three great grandchildren, Avante’ Jones, Makayla Tatum and Makyla Tatum, his sister, Johnis (George) Gaither of Marion, Oh.
Visitation for J. Mitchell will be held Monday, December 1, 2014 from 11 – 1 PM Liberty Baptist Church, 910 E. Church St. Marion, Oh. with Rev. Tracy Gross officiating. Funeral Services will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Tracy Gross officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
